Bindery Manager

 Trend Offset Printing is currently recruiting for a Bindery Manager to join our team in Carrollton, TX. This is a great opportunity to join one of the leading full-service commercial printers in North America. Trend specializes in web offset printing of publications, magazines, newspapers, catalogs, advertising and government communications.

The Bindery Manager oversees all aspects of the Bindery/Finishing department. Responsibilities include directing Bindery activities to meet customer requirements of quality, quantity and delivery. Must inspect binding operations to determine that they are done properly and follow quality standards. Responsible for the development and implementation of employee training. Responsible for the maintenance of equipment and the operation of a safe, clean department. Ensure that department meets OSHA standards including maintenance of protective equipment.

At least 10 years of Bindery experience is required for this position. Trend offers competitive wages and benefits. Benefits are available the first month after 30 days of employment.

Maintenance Mechanic

Diagnose and repair mechanical problems on printing and binding equipment for a 24/7 commercial printing company.  Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, water and lubrication systems.  Will assist to design, fabricate and install machine guards, shields, steps, and catwalks.  Will also assist with equipment breakdowns and rebuilds.  Skilled using shop equipment such as drill press, milling machine, lathe, grinder and assorted hand tools.

Trend Texas is a web heat-set printer (3 M600 presses, 1 M2000 press and a cold-set V-30 press) with a full service bindery (6 saddle stitchers and 2 perfect binders.

Platemaker

Trend Offset Printing is currently recruiting for a Platemaker to join our team in Carrollton, TX. This is a great opportunity to join one of the leading full-service commercial printers in North America. Trend specializes in web offset printing of publications, magazines, newspapers, catalogs, advertising and government communications.

Platemakers are responsible for creating plates for our printing presses. Qualified applicants must be be able to stand/walk for the duration of their shift. Ability to operate prepress software for plate output. Ability to operate plate output equipment and plate processors. Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from computer. Must have finger movement and dexterity. Ability to move 50 lbs.occasionally. Must have color perception. Ability to check press proofs, distinguish and compare colors during color evaluation of proofs at press side. Must be able to register color and distinguish fine detail. Ability to work around heat. . Must have basic math and number skills (understand measurements and basic numbering relating to job numbers, page numbers and technical layouts).

At least two years of experience is required for this position. Experience with Prinergy Workflow systems is preferred. Trend offers competitive wages and benefits. Benefits are available the first month after 90 days of employment. This position is five days a week. Tuesdays-Saturdays. Shift runs from 3pm-11pm or 11pm-7am.

Quality Control Checker

Texas Division is currently seeking applicants to perform quality checking and facilitating of sample printed and bound materials transmitted to the customer.  Duties and responsibilites are as follows:

-Responsible for various quality checking functions on office and customer copies as instructed.

-Perform and assist every machine with running the appropriate office/customer copy samples as required by Customer Service Production Information (PI) sheets.  Products to be inspected before, during and after samples are run.

-Collects,records, reports and files data on press and bindery problems, stock problems, inks and chemicals,etc., to assist personnel in reaching prescribed quality standards.

-Assist and determine the selecting of quality regular product to be used for office copy samples.

-Must be able to stand or walk 8-10 hours per day. Ability to withstand temperature change. Exposed frequently to high noise levels, dust, fumes, chemicals and solvents from press. Must have experience working with computers. Ability to move 75lbs occasionally. Must have color perception. Ability to work around heat. Must be able to work weekends.
