Spot Color Guidelines
Trend can accept composite PDF files with spot colors.Be absolutely sure that your
PDF contains only the spot colors you want printed. Any additional spot colors in
the file will cause delays, additional charges, and possibly an incorrectly printed
job.
If you have a spot color job (2-color or 3-color) and are uncomfortable with using
actual spot colors, or your system does not support them, there is another option
available. You can use either cyan or magenta for your second color (you could use
yellow, but it's a bit more difficult to see), or both for a three-color job, and
tell your Customer Service Representative which Pantone color you'd like to use
for that plate. It may look funny on screen, but it will print fine.
When creating a PDF in Quark 6 or 7 with spot colors, use the DeviceN color space
(not CMYK or As Is).
