We Care About Community
Trend gives back to the community through the generous support of many charities
and worthy causes in the form of donations, in-kind printing, promotion and volunteer
assistance.
California
For nearly 10 years Trend has participated as Premier Sponsor of the Casa Youth
Shelter in Los Alamitos, the location of Trend's first plant and corporate headquarters.
The shelter serves approximately 200 youths per year by providing shelter and counseling
services to runaways and youths in crisis.
Trend is the sole Platinum sponsor for Breast Cancer Angels of Cypress and provides
volunteer and promotional assistance. Breast Cancer Angels support women with cancer
in Southern California who need housing, food and medical aid.
In 2007 Trend will again serve as a Platinum sponsor for the 16th annual Komen Orange
County Race for the Cure. Trend also enters runners in the event and encourages
employees to participate in the race that raises money for research, education,
screening and treatment in the fight against breast cancer.
Florida
Trend lends a helping hand to the Jacksonville Zoo and I.M. Sulzbacher Center for
the Homeless.
A donation sponsored a fruit bat exhibit and the addition of a jaguar on the new
Wildlife Carousel at the Jacksonville Zoo. The Jacksonville division also sponsors
the annual ExZOOberation fundraiser, which supports the care of animals, educational
programs, and conservation initiatives.
In addition to the Jacksonville Zoo, the Florida division also holds an annual employee
holiday drive to collect gifts and canned goods for families at the I.M. Sulzbacher
Center for the Homeless.
Walk America is the largest fund-raiser for March of Dimes. Money raised from Walk
America goes toward the prevention of birth defects and infant mortality through
research, education, community services and advocacy. Trend participated in the
Jacksonville four mile walk at the Jacksonville Landing in late April. Trend Florida
raised more than $5,500 for the cause and was named the Best New Business Participator.
The Walk America fund-raiser began in 1970 and today is held in 1,100 communities
across the United States and involves seven million participants.
Texas
Texas generously gives back to the World Craniofacial Foundation in Dallas. Funds
donated by the Texas plant have helped to provide resources for children with craniofacial
abnormalities, and the health professionals who care for them.
For example, Trend Texas donations have contributed to financial aid grants for
families with children in need of treatment. Funds have also supported a health
professional education program for those who treat craniofacial abnormalities.
Donations from Trend Texas also support the World Craniofacial Foundation's Visiting
Professorship Program, which allows for craniofacial specialists to lecture and
perform surgeries around the world.
