We Care About Environment
Trend takes great pride in being a "green" printer. We're committed to the protection
of our environment and constantly work for ways to increase our dedication.
"This is a very important initiative for Trend as we are committed to recycling
and supporting our environment," says Warren Dow, Trend's president and chief operating
officer.
We are pleased to report that Trend has been recently recognized for its environmental
efforts:
- In August 2007, all three Trend plants joined the select group of printers to be
awarded the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody certification that
acknowleges our commitment to being a "green" company.
- The California Integrated Waste Management Board honored Trend California with a
WRAP (Waste Reduction Awards Program) for two consecutive years in 2006 and 2007
for diverting 15,500 tons of waste from landfill disposal in 2005, and 23,522 in
2006.
- The Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA) awarded Trend Southeast Division an Environmental
Stewardship Award for achieving 100% environmental compliance in industrial pretreatment
for 2006. The JEA recognized Trend Florida for using environmentally safe oil in
its chill tower. Trend Florida has earned this honor two consecutive years.
Our commitment to the environment extends beyond awards and honors. We believe it's
the right thing to do.
Trend also pays close heed to the recycling and disposal of our consumables, paper,
ink, wood, plastics and metals.
